Privacy
Snowmonsters.com believes in the power of kids and we urge both them and their parents to use and enjoy our website. While we encourage the interactive nature of online media, we strive to educate parents and kids about how to appropriately safeguard their privacy when traveling on the Web. Snowmonsters.com is committed to complying fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. Our information collection practices are described below. We urge kids to check with their parents before entering information on any website and we urge parents to discuss with their children restrictions regarding the online release of personal information to anyone they don't know.

What Information Is Collected?
At Snowmonsters.com, it is our policy to create website content that requires minimum collection of information from our visitors. Generally, Snowmonsters.com limits our collection of information from kids to what is known as non-personally identifiable information (i.e. screen name, birthday, gender, zip code and country of residence). This information is collected so kids can participate in activities, chat with celebrities, and post messages, without giving unnecessary personal information. However, there are areas of Snowmonsters.com where some personally identifiable information is asked for and collected (e.i. online contests, etc.). We request only the information that is required to ensure that kids can effectively join in our activities and do not condition a child's participation in an online activity on the disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary. Snowmonsters.com also never sells, markets, trades or otherwise shares personally identifiable information with any third party. If there is any change in this policy in the future, Snowmonsters.com will notify a child's parent to get his or her consent. Parents have the right to consent to the collection and use of their child's personal information without consenting to the disclosure of that information to third parties.

Online Contests
Snowmonsters.com may occasionally sponsor contests, which may be entered online. To enter a contest, a child is not asked for personally identifiable information (address, phone #, etc.) unless they are selected as a winner. In such case the child must provide his or her first name and email address and the email address of his or her parent. We then send the child's parent an email within two business days informing him or her of the child's winning entry and give the parent the option to have their child's entry deleted. If the parent agrees to the awarding of the prize, they will have the option of emailing or phoning Snow Monsters so that staff from Snowmonsters.com can collect the appropriate delivery information from the parent as well as ensure that the parent has actually consented to their child’s participation. Prizes are mailed to parents and not to children. All such information collected by Snowmonsters.com is securely maintained and used only for the purpose of awarding contest prizes. Once the contest is finished, we then delete any personal information collected unless agreed otherwise in writing by the parent.

Electronic Postcards
Snowmonsters.com gives kids the option to send "electronic postcards" with pictures of Snow Monster characters and safety messages to their friends. We ask them to submit their friends' email addresses, their own email address, and their first name. Snowmonsters.com only uses this information to send the postcard and does not include the sender's email address in the postcard.

Cookies and Log Data
Cookies are information files that your web browser places on your computer when you visit a website. Snowmonsters.com is able to access only the cookies that it sets on your computer. We do not link the information collected through cookies to the personal information that kids submit online when participating in our activities. For Snowmonsters.com to work properly, you must have cookies enabled on your computer.

Log data collected on web servers both within Snowmonsters.com 's control and under the confidential control of Snowmonsters.com 's third party ad service provider supplies Snowmonsters.com with aggregate information about the number of visits to different pages on our site. We use this information only for improving our site. We do not link the log data collected to the personal information that kids submit online when participating in our activities.

Parental Access
At Snowmonsters.com , our goal is to help parents ensure that their kids have a safe and fun online experience. That's why we've set up a system by which parents can print out and mail or fax us a signed form that allows them to have this information deleted, and/or request that there be no further collection or use of their child's information. You can link to the form from here. Snowmonsters.com takes steps to verify the identity of anyone requesting information about a child and to ensure that the person is in fact the child's parent or legal guardian.

Security
Snowmonsters.com has taken steps to ensure that personally identifiable information collected in the future is secure, including limiting the number of people who have physical access to our database servers as well as electronic security systems and password protections which guard against unauthorized access.

PLEASE NOTE: In certain special cases, we may disclose your personally identifiable information when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to you, or otherwise injuring or interfering with Snow Monster.com rights, property or operations, other Snowmonsters.com site users, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities. We may also disclose your personally identifiable information when we believe the law requires it, or in response to any demand by law enforcement authorities in connection with a criminal investigation, or civil or administrative authorities in connection with a pending civil case, administrative investigation or investigation conducted by Snowmonsters.com. We shall have no obligation to inform you of our compliance with the law, including without limitation a response to a law enforcement request or a valid subpoena.
